Carol J. Creighton, LCSW, received her Masters of Social Work degree from Case-Western Reserve University. She has been a clinical social worker for more than 35 years. Prior to opening her own practice on a full-time basis in 1984, her experience included three years as a social worker at Children’s Hospital Medical Center in Boston as well as several years as a family counselor at Child and Family Services of Buffalo.
Carol had long wanted to be part of a women’s wellness center, so has been delighted to be part of the work of the Artemis Center.
Carol enjoys working with the issues women face in all stages of their lives. She is committed to helping women find ways to clear the shadows from their past, so they may realize their own special potential more fully.
She has a great deal of experience working with depression, anxiety, and self-esteem and relationship issues and is especially interested in working with the manifestations of shame in women’s lives. Throughout her work, Carol maintains a focus on the mind-body connection, which is important in becoming more attuned to feelings and in becoming more grounded. She also has a special interest in working with people with life-altering medical conditions, including both life-threatening and chronic conditions.
She is available at the Artemis Center on Tuesdays and may be reached at 834-0990 to schedule an appointment.

The Artemis Center believes in financial wellness as a part of your overall wellbeing. Money can be seen as a metaphor for power, and women have long been disempowered in this arena. When you are financially secure, you are less likely to suffer from stress and anxiety which are huge barriers to optimal health and wellness.
